Day #10: Trunchbull, Cream Cheese, and The Return of Gladys Clapsaddle(PA)

Today was another transition, this time from my aunt and uncle to my sister! One of the many ironies of my taking time off from school and leaving Pennsylvania is that Carrie is doing a one year masters program at Penn, and therefore living in Philadelphia right now. The bright side for me is that I get to spend the weekend with her!

After a couple of errands, some productive emailing and writing, and a major re-pack of TGPPE, Sharon loaded up two bags with food for me to take to my sister's, which was hilarious. So we drove into Philly and dropped off all of my stuff and loaded my sister's fridge with goodies galore. I mean, fresh brownies?! My aunt's amazing.

Then the four of us went to dinner at White Dog Cafe in the city. It's an adorable restaurant, totally not what you'd expect, with hilariously kitschy dog pictures and paintings all over the walls. Carrie and I were dying. I had a stewed tofu and vegetable dish that was incredibly flavorful. It had these dried/fried chick peas on top of it that were so crispy. Yum.

After a fun dinner with a lot of inside jokes ad random references, Sharon and Tom dropped us off at Carrie's apartment, where we collapsed on the couch with the container of brownies and Netflix Instant. We decided on Best in Show, which given our love of dog shows was an obvious winner. Now we're off to bed with a fun day planned for tomorrow! Night!
