Woke up and Carra and I headed out to run a few errands, where I got to take in the scenic views of Fayetville.
Grabbed Starbucks on the way home and Carra and I attempted to choke back our tears over the stupid Christmas cups we received our drinks in. It was not alright.
We came back to the house and started on our Halloween crafts. Seriously though - Carra is the master. We made rice crispy treats (both vegan and traditional kinds), decorated marshmallows, made a mean orange punch, and I whipped up some funfetti cupcakes for the birthday girl.
Then there were a few more decorations to make/assemble: "bloody" windows, faux cobwebs outside, lit up balloons, etc.
In between all of this we ate lunch, Carra and Alex watched some TV, and I dyed my hair blonder. Totally normal.
Then Carra and I got ready for the trick or treaters. We decided to make ourselves up as sugar skulls, traditional offerings to the dead on Día de los Muertos. We both struggled through the makeup but were finally satisfied with our fun, colorful faces.
With the Halloween treats and decorations in place we were ready for trick or treaters! There was a pretty solid turnout, and some of Carra's friends came over with their kids which was cute. Some kids were scared of our faces though... ouch.
After that we finally went out to eat dinner around 8pm. In our sugar skull makeup. There are very few people that I would do something like that with. Carra's definitely at the top of that list. It didn't even feel weird to be out in public, at a restaurant, wearing a full face of Halloween makeup. I guess we've done crazier things together.
We then returned home and watched Practical Magic, where I proceeded to munch on our Halloween treats. Yummmmmm.
Up on the earlier side again tomorrow, so that's all for now. Enjoy the pictures and try not to drool.
